We experienced the Market Immersion tour with our family of 4 - with 13 and 11 year-old children. Ale was our guide and she answered all of our questions, big and small. Highlights: making huaraches with a sweet elderly lady, Ramoncita. Walking around and seeing huge flower bouquets with elote in a cup. Finding cherimoya in a fruit tasting, and finding the best carnitas and green sausage tacos that we've ever had. Ale took us to 3 markets and probably would've walked us around the rest of Mexico City if we wanted--she definitely worked overtime for us. My tips: dress comfortably because you will be walking a bit, don't carry too much on you, come hungry (don't eat breakfast), and come with an open mind. We will definitely use this agency again when we return.
Excellent private trip with my wife Sarah and our god-daughter Georgia. We met up with Ale and the pre-arranged meeting place and went straight off to a family run restaurant were we learned how to make an authentic breakfast and where we really integrated into a typical Mexican setting. Next stop was the various markets and let me tell you do not try the markets on your own, get a guide such as Ale because 1. You will miss so much and 2. You will get lost! Our god-daughter doesnt like large crowds so Ale went out of her way to ensure we had safe passage wherever we went. The trip went over the allotted time as there was so much to see but Ale was fine about that and wasnt in any rush to leave us. In fact she stayed with us until we got into our Uber. Top marks Ale for an incredible tour of the markets of Mexico City !

I'm so glad I booked with Mexico Underground as it was one of the best food/market tours I've ever done! My guide Ale was super knowledgeable, and she told me so many things about Mexico City I didn't know. I took the market immersion tour, where we visited 3 markets, one of which included a crash course in huarache-making which was really fun! Every vendor we met at the tour was so lovely and it was great wandering around the markets and learning more about each of them.
